Pride and Prejudice (2005). Directed By: Joe Write. Starring: Kierra Knightly, Matthew Macfayden.
This movie is the most beautiful perfect chick flick/period piece that has ever been made ever. I can say that with certainty. The thing I enjoy most about this film is that I actually love the sappy parts … and that never happens. It’s just … it makes you believe in true love and want to wear beautiful dresses and speak in a British accent while romping around the countryside giggling about handsome young men. What more could a girl ask for?

Almost Famous (2000). Directed By: Cameron Crowe. Starring: Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Francis McDormand, Zooey Deschenel.
This is one of my all time favorites. It’s one of those perfect movies. The ones you come away from feeling completely satisfied, no gaping plot holes, no bad performances, just good music and a lot of heartfelt fun. It made me want to tour with a band.
A fun fact about Almost Famous: it is somewhat autobiographical for Cameron Crowe who was an aspiring young journalist who got an opportunity to travel with a band and cover a story about them.

An interesting fact about the making of the film Blue Valentine - Similar to Like Crazy, there was no script written. The actors were given a detailed story outline, and in rehearsals, they worked to find the reality of their characters together. The film jumps between Dean and Cindy in their college years as they are just meeting and discovering their romance, and them as a married couple living with their daughter in a very broken home. To create these two completely different worlds, the earlier portion of the film was shot first, and then Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams lived together for a couple months. They both gained some weight and their hair changed drastically. But that’s all superficial. What they found was a place of truth within the relationship of their characters, so when shooting picked up, they were completely in tune with each other. It is so successful when you watch them together on screen. I didn’t doubt for a second they had been married for years.
